Got weekend plans? Here are a few!
Things To Do, My Tennessee Weekend
The weekend is quickly approaching and there’s no better way to unwind than with some exciting events to get you out and about to enjoy all Tennessee has to offer.
Wild River 50th Anniversary Celebration celebrates the making of the 20th Century Fox motion picture “Wild River” in Charleston and Cleveland nearly half a century ago. “Wild River” was the first major motion picture filmed entirely in Tennessee, with much of the film taking place in Charleston on the Hiwassee River. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the film’s debut, several events are planned to celebrate, including “Wild River: Hollywood Comes to Bradley County,” a six-week long exhibit at the Museum Center at 5ive Points sponsored by Bank of Cleveland. The event is scheduled for May 22 – July 3.
The Celtic Country Faire in Lebanon features a chili cook-off, pony rides, vendor booths and musical entertainment, including the Scottish Bagpipe and Drum Corps. Proceeds from admission will benefit Southern STARRS Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program for Special Needs Children and Adults. The event kicks off May 22.
Venture west to attend The 17th Annual Health and Heritage Day in Halls. At this event you will enjoy heritage and craft demonstrations, visit the Old Country Store for homemade baked goods and relax while listening to vintage musical entertainment. Be sure to come hungry because lunch will be sold at the event which is scheduled for May 21.
So many things to do, so many things to see! Enjoy Tennessee this weekend!
