Great Family Memories

Things To Do, Attractions, Music and Arts, Nature and Outdoors, Shopping

The summer of 2006 was our first one-full-week vacation ever as a family. Our children were 20, 22 & 24. With 3 children in college & or working, a week-long vacation was, first of all, hard to get planned. Also, our sons girlfriend joined us for the trip. We knew we wanted to come to TN. We began our trip by staying in Gatlinburg for 3 days. The cabin we stayed at was amazingly quiet, secluded and the dream family-time we wanted. My son and husband loved fishing in downtown Gatlinburg. While they were fishing the girls and I were checking out all of the shops. Ripley’s Aquarium, AMAZING, and I do not know when we have laughed so much. We spent one afternoon driving the Casdes-Cove Loop. What an exciting time for us to see our first bear in the wild. W actually seen 3 Momma bears and their babies. On Wednesday morning we left Gatlinburg and headed to Nashville. We ate at the Spaghetti Factory for dinner when we arrived on Wed. evening and walked around downtown. WE watched a photo shoot of Montgomery Gentry for a Chevy Calendar and our kids also had tickets for the American Idol concert while we were there. We were so excited to get our Progressive Farmer Magazine with the Chevy Calendar and guess what, there was the photo we had seen being taken while we were in Nashville. We will never take another vacation that was as much fun and relaxing and special as our week in Tennessee.
