How I Arrived In Tennessee

Things To Do, Attractions

When I was a teenager I listened on Saturday nights to the Grand Old Opry on the radio until I fell asleep. I dreamed of coming to Tennessee someday. But I got married and work kept us in Iowa. Later we moved to Springfield, Mo. and thought that would be my final resting place. I got fooled. My husband took a church as pastor in Northwest Oklahoma. Three years later we wanted to get closer to our new grandbaby, and ended up farther away.

He was asked to come to Tennessee to pastor a church. I thought it would be in the mountains, but it isn’t. We moved here in 1980, and never looked back. Soon my mother, my daughter, husband and 3 kids moved here, along with my sister and husband, then another sister-in-law and husband. We have almost all of the family here now, and we know this is where the Lord wants us. We couldn’t ask for better climate, or better neighbors.

We are retired now and wouldn’t consider moving anywhere else.
