I Never Want To Leave Tennessee

Things To Do, History and Heritage, Nature and Outdoors, Sports and Recreation

The first year that my wife and I were married, we decided to take in her family reunion at Standing Stone State Park in Hilham, Tennessee. The reunion is known as the Brown/Bilbrey Family Reunion. My father-in-law was born in Alpine, Tennessee, not too far from the park.

I had never spent much time in Tennessee other than for business trips to major cities; but let me tell you something, there is nothing better than the rural lakes, rivers and forests of Tennessee. From Standing Stone State Park to Dale Hollow to Sergeant York’s Homestead in Pall Mall, Tennessee it is absolutely the finest State in all of America.

Since that first trip to the family reunion, my wife and I have traveled Tennessee from Memphis to Bristol. We have been to Jackson, Nashville, Knoxville and Gatlinburg. And now with the birth of our son, Kevin, this year, we are going to be introducing a new generation to the places, people and excitement of Tennessee.
